Shadwell Arabian Stallions’s first season sire NO RISK AL MAURY sired his first winner on 17th January at Rabat, in Morocco.

The 3 year old colt GASCOGNE won the Prix Ashour, 1200m race, on his debut by a comfortable margin. GASCOGNE is owned by Mr Karimine M’Hammed, he is trained by Mr Christophe Lermyte and was ridden on the day by Jaouad Khayate.

GASCOGNE was bred in France by Mr Jean-Claude Di Francisco. He is the first foal of his dam, JEANNE D’ARCA, a daughter of ORIENT EXPRESS.

Shadwell Stud’s director Richard Lancaster commented: “It was very nice to see NO RISK AL MAURY get off to such a start with his first runner winning. I hope it is the first of many! We have had good reports of his offspring so are hopeful that he will make a big impact as a sire in the future”.

NO RISK AL MAURY was the leading Arabian racehorse in Europe and the Middle East with a rating of 128 in 2011. Trained by Gill Duffield, he won 17 races in Europe and UAE including 6 Group 1 races, from 4 to 9, and was the first horse to win at Meydan Racecourse.

Born in France in 2002, by KESBEROY and out of NECTARINE AL MAURY, NO RISK AL MAURY is the full-brother of the Group winners NOUBA AL MAURY (Hatta International Stakes, Gr.1), NEVADOUR AL MAURY (Coupe d’Europe des Chevaux Arabes, Gr.1) and NACREE AL MAURY (Prix Damas, Gr.3). His second dam is NEVADOUR, a remarkable broodmare whose descendants are amongst the elite of Arabian racehorses and sires such as DAHESS, BIBI DE CARRERE, KAOLINO, KANDAR DU FALGAS, NIVOUR DE CARDONNE, RUBIS DE CARRERE, NEZ D’OR, NOREEN, SIVIT AL MAURY, SYLVINE AL MAURY…

NO RISK AL MAURY stands at Haras de Saint Faust (France) and is available for natural cover and artificial insemination with frozen semen.
