Last Saturday was the last Arabian Racing Organisation (ARO) race meeting for the 2017 season at Huntingdon Racecourse.

Shadwell Arabian horses did a hat trick:

- 3yo filly MAHAASEN (MADJANI) won the Forta Stud Mares & Fillies Maiden Stakes for trainer James Owen and jockey Joanna Mason,

- 3yo gelding TATBEEQ (MADJANI) won the Arabian Racing Organisation Open Maiden Stakes for trainer James Owen and jockey Joanna Mason

- 4yo colt ALMAREEKH (NO RISK AL MAURY) won the Arabian Horse Organization Gold Final 0-80 Handicap for trainer Phil Collington and jockey Charlie Price.

ALAZEEZ (MADJANI) finished second; TAQDEERAAT, NAISHAAN (NO RISK AL MAURY) and ALWALEED (AL SAOUDI) finished third. All our runners were homebred.

HH Sheikh Hamdan, ARO patron, won his sixteenth ARO Owners Championship. The horses carrying the famous blue and white colours recorded 19 wins, 20 second and 21 third places in the UK this season.

Our Arabian trainers both had a very successful season in the UK. James Owen is the leading trainer by number of wins for the second year, having saddled 23 winners this season. Phil Collington is second with 16 winners and first by prize money for a trainer based in the UK.
